Tomb Of King Tut

Tomb of King Tut

In November of 1922, Lord Carnarvon and Mr. Howard Carter made one of the most amazing archaeological discoveries of all time when they found the Tomb of King Tut. King Tutankhamun (or Tutankhamen) ruled Egypt as pharaoh for ten years until his death at age 19, around 1324 B.C. This gallery shows photographs that were taken just after the tomb was discovered, and reveals many of the treasures found there, including ancient art, thrones, chariots, caskets, and so much more. The images come from the book Wonders of the Past, edited by J. A. Hammerton and published in 1923. If you find these images interesting, you might also enjoy the pages with Egypt Statues and Egyptian Artwork. Have fun!
