Seashell Drawings

Seashell Drawings

I hope you find yourself as enamored with these colorful Seashell Drawings as I am. There is a wonderful assortment of murexes, conchs, oyster, and snail shells. I couldn’t label the individual shells as I normally try to do because the book I got them from was in Dutch and printed in Amsterdam in 1771. The titles were handwritten in hard-to-read notes at the bottom of each page, and I wasn’t able to translate them. They come from the book by G. W. Knorr entitled (loosely translated) Delight in the Eyes and the Spirit: Collection of Familiar Horns and Scallops. If you are enjoying these Seashell Drawings, you’re definitely going to want to have a look at the Seashell Sketches and Seashell Clipart galleries. Enjoy!
