Maya Sculptures

On this page are eighteen sepia-toned illustrations of Maya Sculptures from the Mayan ruins of Copan. They come from the two books. The first one is Views of the Ancient Monuments in Central America, Chiapas, and Yucatan by Frederick Catherwood, printed in 1844. The second book is Incidents of Travel in Central America, Chiapas, and Yucatan
by the late John Lloyd Stephens, published in 1854. All the drawings were done by Frederick Catherwood. They images depict various views of stelae from the site.
