Japanese Zodiac

Japanese Zodiac

I just love these twelve illustrations of the signs of the Japanese Zodiac. There are images of Ushi the Ox, Tatsu the Dragon, Saru the Monkey and nine more. I found them in an old book on Japanese culture published in 1874. They weren’t labeled, so I had to do a little investigating to figure out who each figure was. You can read more about the Japanese Zodiac at Zodiac Calendar and Lore. You might also like visiting our pages with Zodiac Signs or Symbols of the Japanese before you go. Have fun!
