Celtic Knotwork
Below you’ll find a selection of intricately designed Celtic Knotwork in black and white. The examples shown here come from Celtic Art of the Christian Period, as described in the book Celtic Art in Pagan and Christian Times by J. Romilly Allen. It was published in 1904. Allen says that one of the distinctive features of Celtic art is that it “…allows the contour of the margin to influence the whole design.” If you like this Celtic Knotwork, you should take a minute to view the pages with Celtic Knot Drawings and other Celt Patterns. Have fun!
