General Hannibal

Known as one of the greatest military commanders in ancient history, Hannibal lead Carthaginian forces against Rome during the Second Punic War (218–201 BC). He became famous for his bold strategy of marching an army, including war elephants, across the Alps to invade Italy. Hannibal won several major battles on Roman soil, but was eventually defeated by the Roman general Scipio Africanus at the Battle of Zama in 202 BC.
