Types of Lemurs
In this gallery are nine adorable color images of different Types of Lemurs. Included are drawings of the Aye-Aye, the Red-Ruffed Lemur, the Endrina, and more. They are from the book A Hand-Book to the Primates written by Henry O. Forbes and illustrated by J. G. Keulemans around 1896. Lemurs are a unique group of primates found only on the island of Madagascar and a few nearby Comoro Islands. They exhibit a wide range of sizes, diets, and social structures, from the tiny mouse lemurs to the larger indri. Sadly, due to habitat loss and other threats, lemurs are considered the most endangered group of mammals on Earth, with the vast majority of species facing a high risk of extinction.
