Stories of King Arthur
In this gallery are twelve lovely drawings from Stories of King Arthur featuring images of Arthur as a boy, Sir Galahad, Sir Gareth, and many more. They are from the book Legends of King Arthur and his Court written by Frances Nimmo Greene in 1901. The illustrations are by Edmund H. Garrett. King Arthur, a legendary figure in British history, united the fractured kingdom of Britain and established his court at Camelot. He gathered the noblest knights of the land, forming the Knights of the Round Table, a brotherhood dedicated to chivalry and honor. Together, they embarked on daring quests, fought mythical creatures, and defended their kingdom. However, internal strife, betrayal, and a tragic love triangle between Lancelot, Guinevere, and Arthur led to the downfall of Camelot. In the end, Arthur was mortally wounded in battle, leaving behind a legacy of courage, loyalty, and the enduring spirit of chivalry.
