Roman Coliseum

In this gallery are ten images of the Roman Coliseum. Built between 70 and 80 AD, this elliptical amphitheatre, once the largest of its kind, had eighty arches, each leading to a level of tiered seating that could accommodate around 50,000 spectators who watched gladiators fight.
