Pompeii The City

Pompeii the City

One of the cool things about twenty-four these sepia-toned images of Pompeii the City, is the juxtaposition between the ruins and the reconstructions. The ruins were photographed in 1923 for the book Wonders of the Past by J. A. Hammerton. Alongside each one is a vision of what the original area looked like before the destruction of the city. There are views of the Temple of Jupiter, the Forum, the Gate of Herculaneum, and more. If you are intrigued with Pompeii as much as I am, be sure to visit the galleries with images of more Pompeii Ruins and Pompeii Art. Enjoy!
