Le Morte D'Arthur

Le Morte D’Arthur

On this page are fifteen color drawings for Sir Thomas Malory’s Le Morte D’Arthur, a 15th-century Middle English prose reworking of tales about the legendary King Arthur, Guinevere, Lancelot, Merlin and the Knights of the Round Table, along with their respective folklore. It is one of the best-known works of Arthurian literature and has been a major influence on subsequent retellings of the Arthurian legend. The pictures here include images of Sir Tristram, Sir Launcelot, Sir Percivale, and more. They were drawn by William Russell Flint for a book published in 1921. If you are enjoying these illustrations, be sure to visit the galleries with more on Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table and more Legends of King Arthur. Have fun!
