City of Pompeii
Below you will discover fifteen sepia-toned illustrations of the City of Pompeii. They come from the book Pompeii Before Its Destruction: Reconstruction of its Temples and its Surroundings. It was written by C. Weichardt in 1898. In the book, there are re-imaginings of what places such as the Temple of Jupiter, The Temple of Fortuna Augusta, and others looked like before their destruction by Mt. Vesuvius on August 24, 79 CE. If you find these drawings of Pompeii useful, please check out the galleries with more images of Pompeii Village and the Ruins of Pompeii. Enjoy!
