Masonic Temples

In this gallery are nine photos and engravings of Masonic Temples within the United States. Included are temples from Colorado, Massachusetts, and Illinois, and more. The symbolism of Speculative Masonry is connected with the temple building and temple worship. Masonry has taken its concept of the temple from the Hebrews, and the temple is the symbol of a Lodge. The majority of these images come from Hascall’s book, History of the Ancient and Honorable Fraternity of Free and Accepted Masons and Concordant Orders, published in 1890.
