Aztec Symbolism 6

To the right is Mayahuel, the goddess of maguey or agave (Agave americana), a cactus plant native to Mexico, and the goddess of pulque, an alcoholic drink made from agave juices. She is one of several goddesses who protect and support fertility in its different guise. To the left is Centeotl (sometimes spelled Cinteotl or Tzinteotl and sometimes called Xochipilli or "Flower Prince”). He was the main Aztec god of American corn, also known as maize. He is holding a quetzalpamitl-a banner with quetzal feathers.
