Paper Sculpture Art ~ Patchwork

I started with a picture in my head of a nest surrounded by flat pale blue. It wasn’t until I discovered the book called Patchwork that my vision for the colorful quilted eggs came into focus.

A nest of strips of text cradles five patchwork eggs in this piece of paper sculpture art. One of the eggs has fallen out of the nest and is spilling its colorful center over the pale blue page.

This book sculpture was created from a used book that I purchased at my local library book sale. The book has a wooden frame on the back and is strung with picture hanging wire so that it can hang flat against the wall.
