Hanging Wall Decor ~ Anatomy of Paradise
What lush landscape do you imagine when you consider paradise? Here I wanted to create a book sculpture that would burst from the interior pages of the book. Brightly colored flowers, leaves, and vines overflow from the pages of this hanging wall decor piece. Dragonflies, a hummingbird, and a butterfly hover close by adding their colors to this fun and exotic piece.This one-of-a-kind piece of hanging wall decor was created from a book purchased at a our local library’s used book sale. I was inspired by the title of the book and used various paints, inks, mediums to decorate pages taken from the book itself. The book is supported on the back with a painted wooden frame, and strung with picture hanging wire, allowing it to hang flat on the wall.
