Contemporary Wall Decor ~ Stone Heart
A rough surface of iron colored acrylic medium surrounds two red paper hearts in this unique piece of contemporary wall decor.Two square niches were carved into this altered book. Thinly cut paper was painted and woven within the openings to hold two shining red paper hearts. The surface was textured then painted with the rich micaceous iron oxide acrylic. The title of the book, Stone Heart, which is revealed at the top of the page, was the inspiration for the artwork and design.
This book sculpture uses a wood slat and picture wires which enables it to hang flat on a wall.
