The Motor Girls on Crystal Bay
my first altered book. Some people ask me how I got started making altered books. The first time I saw a picture of
an altered book in a magazine, the art form immediately grabbed
me, and I knew I had to do that.
The idea of making an altered book was floating around in the back of mind for
a while when I saw The Motor Girls on Crystal Bay
tucked away on a dusty
shelf at a junk shop. I realized
that it would be perfect to
learned how to make altered books as I created this one. Each time I finished
a page, I wrote down my process, my successes, my failures, and reflections and
posted them on my web site. It was a way for me to get feed back
and encouragement and also a way of helping others learn how to make altered
books for themselves.
So come inside and learn from my mistakes with The Motor Girls
, and when you're done looking through the pages, you can find
out more about how to make altered books in the Altered Books
section of my web site. I hope you have as much fun on
your artistic journey as I've had on mine.
