Altered Books Beginner Techniques - Fold-Out Page for an Altered Book

Measure 2 pieces of card stock (CS) the width of one page plus 1/2 inch.

Score CS 1/2 inch in on inside edges. Test width to make sure the folded CS half sheet will fit around the book page when it's closed. It may not be a perfect fit in the middle when the book lies open.

Glue 3 - 4 book pages together for strength.

Put glue on CS between score line and edge

Tuck glued edge underneath glued book pages up to the score line.

(Once dry, I also glued the underside of the CS (the 1/2" part) to the book pages below it to make a kind of card stock sandwich.

Fold CS in to cover pages. Fold CS in before the glue dries to make sure it's a good fit. Then put a sheet of wax paper in the middle and close the whole book up and weight it down to dry and flatten out.
